May Spirit guide us . . .

“Work, stress & isolation were affecting my mental and physical health. Through Manifest’s yoga & meditation classes, I’ve really found peace and a connection with the flow of my life. I’ve even quit smoking!”

MEN MAKING NOISE (Manifest NE Studio)

Express repressed anger, fear, joy, grief, or giddiness through making noise; explore harmony & communication through sound

Mondays weekly, 7:30-9:00 pm

By clustering in offices and sitting silently in front of computer screens, many modern humans have cut themselves off from the power of making sound to powerfully express emotions and aliveness.  In this creative space you have permission to express yourself fully through making noise—drumming, singing, shouting, pounding, and discovering how to make sound with a variety of instruments (traditional and non-traditional).  What sometimes starts as cacophony almost always morphs into a complex sound conversation and eventually rhythm and harmony.  Humans who are free to make noise invariably re-discover their own authentic “music.”  In a space of free sound, free movement almost always arises too.  Sound moves us—every cell of our being vibrates as one.  Free sound naturally inspires authentic movement.

CO-FACILITATORS:  Ehab Elhanafi, 37, loves to make noise with his Djembe drum and create a space for men to fully express energies that have no words through making noise.  Levi Banner is a yoga teacher, break-dancing instructor, and long-time hip hop artist.  He believes sound and movement are important ways for men to discover who they are.  Movement and sound have been fundamental rituals for men throughout history and in every culture.  Our cells love sound and movement.

DONATION:  $5-$15 sliding scale donation benefits Manifest, a non-profit men’s wellness community.  No one turned away for lack of funds and work-study available; please call 503-223-8822 x2 in advance to schedule your work-study hours.
